Damn the end of world/prepper genre has really taken off lately.
NBC has a new show entitled
Revolution about the entire grid (and everything electric for that matter) shutting down. Check out the trailer below, and then I'll start ranting per usual form.
The premise seems a little far fetched only because everything shuts down. If it were just the grid, it would feel a little more believable, but I assume it is all part of the plot and that glowing amulet. What bother me the most was the weapons selection. Flint lock black powder rifles? Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the wars 80 years from now are still being fought from the insurgent side with AK-47s. I really can't see armed militias taking over middle America with civil war era weapons only 15 years after the grid collapses. Remember weapons are mechanical, not battery powered. Also, the crossbows... After mainstream production of all factory made materials has ceased, I'm supposed to believe that there is a huge cache of crossbow strings that still retain elasticity? I can't find a damned rubber band that lasts more than a year.
