I never thought I’d say it… but I really miss the Monroe Republic. Sure it’s dangerous and six types of awful and if you stare at a Militia soldier too long he might just decide to up and gut you. But at least there, I knew what to be scared of. If I got sick or broke my leg, Maggie was there to take care of me. But out here, breaking your leg is a death sentence. Aaron’s Journal: Leaving Priscilla – Again

During my freshman year at MIT, most of the guys in my dorm would stay up insanely late trying to think up an idea that would change the world. Unfortunately, this pursuit usually just turned into betting someone to do something stupid. Case in point, I remember one night I bet my friend Gary 50 bucks that he couldn’t down three flaming vodka shots in under a minute. He gladly accepted the challenge and we set them ablaze. However, as we were stupid college freshmen, we didn’t know that you have to blow out the flame before drinking and sadly, Gary didn’t realize this until it was too late. Terrified, he spit the vodka out – momentarily resembling a screaming dragon – and lit the common room ping-pong table on fire. Luckily, someone else grabbed a fire extinguisher while I hid in the corner laughing, fairly certain I had just witnessed the best fire story of my life. Continue reading

NBC Announces Mid-Season Schedule Premiere Dates

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – October 30, 2012 – NBC today announced changes to its 2013 primetime mid-season schedule highlighted by the premieres of three new series, including comedy “1600 Penn,” from one of the architects of “Modern Family”; an intriguing drama “Deception” (formerly “Infamous”); and producer Eva Longoria’s big reality relationship show “Ready For Love.”

In addition, several of the network’s biggest hits will return, including “The Voice” with new coaches Usher and Shakira; fall hit “Revolution“; “Smash,” featuring Jennifer Hudson; and “The Biggest Loser,” with some innovative changes to the format and the return of Jillian Michaels.

Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and “Supernatural’s” Eric Kripke, a family struggles to reunite in an American landscape void of electricity: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out forever.

The series stars Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Graham Rogers, Anna Lise Phillips, Zak Orth, JD Pardo, Giancarlo Esposito, David Lyons, Maria Howell, Daniealla Alonso, Tim Guinee and Elizabeth Mitchell. Kripke, Abrams and Bryan Burk (“Lost,” “Star Trek”) serve as executive producers, and Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2″) serves as co-executive producer. “Revolution” is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions, Kripke Enterprises and Warner Bros. Life and career

Zak Orth born in October 15, 1970. Is an American comedic actor known for his roles in Wet Hot American Summer, The Baxter, Melinda and Melinda, In and Out, and Music and Lyrics. He also appeared as a man haunted by psychic visions named Roy in an episode of the Fox series Fringe.

Orth was born Adam Zachary Orth in Libertyville, Illinois, the son of Jane, a piano teacher, and Robert Orth, an opera singer. He is good friends with the members of the comedy group Stella and has appeared in many of their short films, as well as their 2005 TV series. He is also known for his brief role in Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet playing the character Gregory. Orth is an alumnus of DePaul University.

He is also one half of The Doilies, a comedic musical group, with Michael Showalter.
